YouTube Censorship?

I got an e-mail yesterday from someone who had an original video about Scientology allegedly removed by YouTube without just cause.  As we’ve seen in the last couple of days, with the Digg controversy over the distribution of a code related to HD-DVD encryption, trying to ban something from the net is not as easy as it seems.

Here is the video which was taken down without just cause:  “The Real Life of L. Ron Hubbard.”

This is the text that “Abby Defghij” included with the video.  Although the facts in the video may not be entirely accurate, it doesn’t deserve to be banished without cause by YouTube.

This video is dedicated to the Memory of Lisa McPherson and all the other victims of the Cult Of Scientology. I give thanks to Mark Bunker, the hard working boys and girls at Operation Clambake all the people at the LMT who have made a great sacrifice in their own lives to protect freedom and tell to truth about “THE SOURCE of fecal matter” L Ron Hubbard. Also my hat is off to South Park Creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone for there episode about Scientology.

Now with out further delay my little contribution to the History of L ittle Ron Hubbard was in more dire need of medication, physiotherapy, Elector Shock Treatment and probably a good BARIUM ENEMA then any Caucasian since Hitler or Napoleon. I have more then three sources of information on any statement made and you can E-mail me to see my facts. Believe what ever you like, but search for the truth in your life. That is all I want to say.

Abby Defghij

P.S. Xenu bless Tom Cruise the one man who shows us how dangerous Scientology really is. Please keep your eyes open for my next Project that is in post production called Xenu and L. Ron make up.

More and more people are joining in and producing their own essays on Scientology.  You gotta love that.

  1. Mary McConnell Says:

Thanks for the heads up on what the cult is doing to stop free speech on the internet. I was really moved by Abby Defghij ‘s “The Real Life of L. Ron Hubbard.” I can’t wait for her next video!

  2. Gabraham Says:

It shouldn’t have been removed, but the video is awful.
This is where $cientology critics go wrong: they exaggerate the evils of the cult, to the point where they seem like unreliable “ax grinders.”
More powerful than the nazis? A claim as revolting as it is stupid. I don’t care how much money $cientology sucks out o’ the suckers, they are not and never will be on par with a group that murdered 10 million of my peeps.
So, the video is a piece of garbage, but shouldn’t have been banned.

  3. XENU TV Says:

I agree with your points, Gabraham. The video is certainly flawed. But I’m glad people are speaking out.

  4. Artoo45 Says:

    Spell-check. Spell-check. Spell-check!

Don’t ever put out any criticism of the Clams without running it through spell-check! And yes, the hyperbole is immature and doesn’t really help the critics cause. But I like the basic concept and I thought the choice of the song was inspired. I suggest that our budding film maker should watch Karl Blumenthal’s “Friend of Mankind” a few times and then re-edit. Always let Hubbard’s patently obvious insanity do the work for you.

  5. Anti-Scientologist Says:

I put your website into the stumble upon group so you could be seeing some increasing web traffic

  6. John Smith Says:

Gabraham, with all respect, the point as I see it is not that Hubbard/Scientology is, ever was, or ever will be more powerful than the nazis, only that he *wanted* it to be. Consider the 1938 letter to his first wife, in which he confessed to a boiling desire to “smash [his] name into history” so that it would survive “even if all the books are destroyed.” He wrote “in 100 years Roosevelt will be forgotten.” (You know, the only President with a crippling physical handicap, who had rescued America from the depression, and would go on to defeat the Nazis, as it turned out)

Hubbard thirsted to be remembered, famous or infamous, as a “larger goal” than to make money, create happy willing slaves, and gather power.

I fully agree with the maxim “Believe whatever you like, that is your right. Never stop looking for the truth and never try to stop my search for the truth.”

Abby says she has “three independent sources” for every statement, but I do see factual errors. For example Hubbard was not “kicked out of the navy twice,” He received an honorable discharge, however he was removed from command of a vessel twice and given a desk to drive. In wartime, that’s plenty disgraceful.

(nods to Artoo) Spell check, yes, but more importantly fact check, and don’t let the hyperbole blur the facts. Do please edit and resubmit an unassailable cut.

  7. Artoo45 Says:

    Mr. Smith,

I concur with your thougtful letter. I recently read the long list of “admissions” attributed to Hubbard . . .

. . . in which he rambles on pathetically about his lack of libido, sense of victimization and how one day “all men (would be his) slaves”. They were so, well, sad. It’s the first time I actually felt sorry for him . . . for a minute.

I actually believe he suffered from either borderline or narcissitic personality disorder as did many of the last century’s worst tyrants. I just finished Jung Chang’s stunning biography of Mao Tse-Tung. In this giant doorstop of a book he is depicted as the classic narcissist with a complete and callous disregard for the humanity of others combined with rampant narcissism. Mao’s behaviour seems eerily familiar to, though far more devastating than, Hubbard’s. You read about his tendency to be charming and erudite one moment and ranting and raging the next and it all sounds very like accounts of Hubbard’s actions while he lived aboard the Apollo. Come to think of it, it sounds a bit like stories of li’l Davey’s outbursts and violence too.

  8. Abby C. Defghij Says:

To all who have viewed my video, I am sorry for my inaccurate and misleading statement as I lover the criticism please keep it coming.
Fact #1 said that L. Ron was kicked out of the U.S. Navy this is inaccurate he was in fact relieved of command after the incidents described and never put in a poison of command again.
Fact #2 I did not want to say that The Cult of Scientology has more power then Hitler my point was that L. Ron Wanted more power then even Hitler had achieved in his life. If you read the Doctrines of the two groups it seems that L. Ron based many Ideas of the Sea Org on the latter. i.e. One self appointed leader Commodore/Furor, The laws of the land should not interferes with the goals of the party and so on..

  9. Irish Sass Says:

Well the bigger point here is YouTube, which offers the masses the ability from soup to nuts video access as sucuumbed to the power of the Church of Scientology. I thought we all had the access thanks to YouTube to become a famous director or star. Apparently not and shame on you for falling for the cult’s threats…..and censoring my right to view others free speech rights.

  10. Abby C. Defghij Says:

    Irish Sassy,
Would you like to run away for a weekend the next time I am in town. Any hotel you want, you are a woman after my own heart.. 🙂

  11. Irish Sass Says:

Does the offer include dinner and dancing as well?

  12. Abby Defghij Says:

    Dear Artoo45,
I would like to thank you for all your criticism unlike the Cult of Scientology I can take it. I did see the video you recommended and thank you. I am inspired to make a video like that. I made another video with 3 more on the way and
Thank Again Mr. Bunker, and all you Cats and Kittens. Feel free to E-mail me if you need any thing.

  16. Anon Says:

Well their still at it, Scientology and one weasel named Oliver Shaper who is somehow abusing the Youtube TOS take down to remove any and all clips that are critical of Scientology including the Shawn Lonsdale videos and other clips that are clearly NOT against the rules. As of OCT 21 they are still doing it and youtube will not do anything about it
